TPI Double Pole Thermostats
Double pole thermostats and single pole thermostats are both types of line voltage thermostats that are suitable for convection, resistance, and radiant heaters. Though they can control the same kinds of heaters, the two types of thermostats have some stark differences. The biggest distinction to consider is the presence and function of an off setting.
Unlike a single pole thermostat, a double pole thermostat has a true off setting. Single pole thermostats can only be turned down to their lowest setting, after which the heater will kick back up after the temperature dips below a certain level. However, with double pole thermostats, this is guaranteed not to happen. Double pole thermostats ensure that the heater is indeed turned off, and will not kick back on unless it is manually turned on.
