NEDO Surveying Invar Leveling Rods

Invar is a nickel-iron alloy that’s known to be good for the production of instruments that need high dimensional stability as well as high precision. Invar levelling rods by Nedo are thus suitable for first-order elevation leveling in land surveying. In certain situations, Invar is preferable to wood, fiberglass, and aluminum.

These leveling rods are also meant to be used in large-scale construction, such as 

the construction of dams, power plants, tunnels, and roads. The graduations are engraved by an interferometrically controlled laser beam into the rods’ paint coating. This ensures edge sharpness as well as an accuracy of up to ± 0.015 mm.

The rods have an anodized surface and a yellow lacquered graduation side protected by a coating of polyester. Users can also buy a transport case for two Invar rods to keep them safe from damage and loss.
