Measuring Wheels
Some distances that need to be measured are so long that using standard tape measures won’t be enough. Measuring wheels can make measuring long distances easier for surveyors, appraisers, realtors, contractors, and other professionals. Also known as a surveyor’s wheel or a trundle wheel, this device can measure distances based on the number of revolutions and circumference of its wheel. To use the measuring wheel, set it down first at the starting point of the distance being measured. Then, walk at a stable pace and push the wheel alongside. Upon reaching the end of the distance, simply pick the measuring wheel up and get the measurements displayed on its screen.
