Paper Tabs

During the earlier centuries, wax was commonly used to seal documents, to serve as proof that documents have not yet been opened, and to signify who the sender is. Today, however, sealing wax is used more for ceremonial purposes rather than for functionality. With the advent of technology, more practical ways of sealing letters came about, and they are more efficient than older alternatives.
