What are these dock lights used for?
These dock lights are designed to be installed in a loading dock to provide sufficient illumination for loading applications.
How high should dock lights be mounted?
The recommended mounting height for dock lights is 6 1/2 feet or 78 inches above the loading dock’s floor.
How do I install dock lights?
- Find the mounting location on the wall of the loading dock.
- Using the four bolt holes of the light arm’s mounting plate, drill four holes into the loading dock’s wall.
- Screw in the bolts, washers, or nuts of the right size into the plate’s holes and into the wall’s drilled holes.
- Install the dock light head on the end of the mounted arm.
What are the different arm lengths of dock lighting?
Dock lighting typically comes with 24- to 114-inch long dock light arms, but the most common arm lengths are 40 and 60 inches.
Do I need a specific bulb for a dock light?
Yes. Since OSHA has specific requirements about dock illumination, the dock light bulb should be bright enough to meet those requirements. It’s best to ask your manufacturer for the specific bulb to use with your dock light.
